I love to cook!!!!

Got a Dutch oven for my birthday this year, and I LOVE IT! I used it for the first time this past weekend when went horse camping!!!
I made some of the most YUMMY (and moist) chicken EVER!! I added biscuits, so it was just like chicken and dumplings!
We went for a hike while it was cooking, and when we came back we could SMELL the chicken...TO DIE FOR!
And, what is it about eating when you are up in the mountains? Everything tastes intensely tasty!!
I also made a peach cobbler :) It was so easy and yummy, WOW!
OK, if you google Dutch oven recipes, you will find a zillion! I wish I would've thought to take pics of the food! Next time!

Easy Chicken and Dumplings:
Chicken breasts (I used frozen)
1 big can of Cream of Chicken soup
2 cups of Chicken broth
can of biscuits
seasonings :)

Mix soup and broth together, add chicken breasts, then last 20 minutes add biscuits.

Peach Cobbler
2 big cans of peaches (next time I am going to try a different fruit, maybe cherries)
1 box of cake (I used white)
1/3 stick of butter
cinnamon

Dump cans in, dump cake in and spread all over the peaches, add cinnamon, and cut up butter and drop in all over.

Play dates!

When I grew up, even though we moved A LOT (13 times from Kindergarten through my senior year), we always lived in town, and thankfully always in a neighborhood with a bazillion kids!
Even when I lived in Cashmere, Leavenworth, and Peshastin as an adult, my kids still lived near lots of kids, so playing just happened so naturally.
Now, that I live on a farm, I was just reflecting how instead of just playing with the neighbor kids (there are NONE), we make play dates!
This actually takes some planning and coordinating, and truly some commitment, if you want to make it happen regularly.
SO, this summer we have had a ZILLION play dates up at our house! It's so much fun!!!
I guess I sorta took for granted all the things we have to do up here, and that it's such a different experience for the kids who come to play, since they all live in neighborhoods with lots of kids.
We ride horses, have picnics, play on the trampoline, turn the slide into a waterslide, play on the swings, play in the water, etc.
I love the sound of children's laughter! And, when we play up at our house, it's so fun to observe how creative the kids are and how much they can use their imaginations to have a blast!
And, what I really like...everything is UNPLUGGED and very active :)
You can check out our private blog to see some fun pics of our recent play dates!!     I really feel blessed to have such an incredible home and playground :)

A scrapper's dream :)

I stumbled upon this really cool site. I think I found it from a link from someone I follow on Twitter :)
It's totally free, and it will take your pic and make them into collages for you. You can do shapes, letters (change the font to any kind you want), and even custom shapes or letters!
It's so easy and so quick! You can choose an entire folder of pics, drag it over, make a collage, save it as a JPG, all in less than two minutes!!! VERY COOL!
I am including two examples here (and one over on our private blog). I used the heart shape, and then the letter "h" since the pics are all from our horse rides!
I just uploaded the pics to Walmart, so I can see what they look like printed out!!
     The site is www.shapecollage.com. Enjoy!!!!

You can see a really cool one I made of our family on our private blog! Just click right here!!

Bad blogger, I KNOW.

Oh, My Blog, how I have missed thee...
You would think with all this extra time on my hands that I would be all caught up blogging, but alas, I am not. OH WELL.
It's not that I don't have tons to talk about because really I do. I have actually been keeping a list of things to blog about, so I wouldn't forget.
I have just been having so much fun with the fam and friends, that by the time I have some sitting on the couch time to blog, well, I would rather watch a little tv or read and then go to bed! LOL
I know, it's a rough life to play so hard that you don't have time to blog! LOL
The funny thing...I have had a couple of people actually give me grief about not keeping my blogs up to date this summer. Now, I find this amusing, considering they both had started blogs, and have not updated for MONTHS. Geez. Give me a break, right?! LOL. Love you guys!!
So, I will be blogging more soon.
